"The Attack of Bedford Harbor" Revolutionary War Re-Enactment - September 1978 Add Video

"The Attack of Bedford Harbor" Revoltuinary War re-enactment took place in September 1978 in New Bedford and Fairhaven, MA. It was organized and led by Town Historian Donald R. Bernard. This compilation of color slides narrated by Phil Paleologos depicts the scenes and describes the battle that ensued. Close attention to detail made this one of Bernard's greatest accomplishments at the time after publishing his book "Tower of Strength"in 1975. The brazen attack of Dartmouth village by the British is recreated by dozens in period dress and armaments. The slide show video was edited by David Fortin of Media Image Productions with funding from The United Way of New Bedford Mini Grants Program. This YouTube presentation is dedicated to my long time friend and fellow historian Donald R. Bernard on the 20th Anniversary of his death.
