The West Island State Reservation trail was void of any visitors on an exceptionally beautiful Saturday afternoon. The EEE mosquito threat is very likely the reason outdoor activity around places like this, which is a mosquito rich environment with perfect conditions for them to breed. One person was spotted entering the trail and quickly turned around after getting swarmed by hungry insects. We were inspecting the trail by bike and testing camera gear for a video shoot in the Fall. *ML's Note: The first mosquito-killing frost at this location last year, was October 26, 2018.
