West Island Weather Station Tower flies US Flag - VE Day Add Video

Uploaded on May 8, 2011 Today, May 8, marks the 66th Anniversary of the end of WW II in Europe. This huge 12x18 US flag covers 216 square feet and flies gracefully from the weather station's heavy duty tower. In honor of Walter S. Baron / US Army Air Corp - recipient of The Purple Heart - posthumously - for wounds received in enemy action resulting in his death December 1943. (Shot down in a B-24 Liberator over Europe.) And a special salute to ALL who sacrificed or risked their lives for our freedom.
