This restored 1964 classic of "Whaling Days" features a whaling voyage aboard the New Bedford whaleship "VIOLA"in 1916 narrated by Whaling historian Reginald Haggerty of The New Bedford Whaling Museum. He actually was a whaler himself and sailed on the "VIOLA". Although the film is in fair condition, Haggerty provides a rare insight into life at sea aboard a whaler. The film was seen for the first time on TV in 1964 in this series of "Whaling Days" Dateline Boston by WHDH and The MA Dept of Education. Restored by the M.L.Baron Historic Archives and www.westislandweather.com/ Part 1 can be seen at this link: http://youtu.be/iWA4HDFASAo
