The West Island Weather Station KA1WBH is prepared for yet another Atlantic Hurricane Season. This station is one of the most vulnerable on the southern exposure to hurricanes and tropical storms along the Massachusetts coast. WIWS is designed to withstand a terrible pounding but is not invulnerable. Being located at the front "battle line" WIWS will likely be the first to go down. "Rest assured multiple redundant state of the art systems are in place to stay on line hopefully right through the entire event. Our fatal adversary is a direct hit lightning strike. I stopped by with my GMC Mountain bike and was no match for this gang. But I bravely taped 'em anyway and I didn't even get beat up! All kidding aside-what a great group of bikers!! A group of bikers stopped by "Down The Hatch" at Earl's Marina.,The parking lot was quite a sight with these classic and very expensive Harley - Davidson Motorcycles . "Down The Hatch is a favorite spot to grab a bite dockside.
A cold front will move across the waters late this afternoon and evening. This may be accompanied by scattered showers and isolated thunderstorms. High pressure will build over the waters tonight and Monday...then move offshore Monday afternoon. Another cold front will move through on Tuesday afternoon. It will then stall just south of the waters and bring unsettled weather Wednesday and Thursday.
