However, this low light sets the mood for a tranquil harbor scene. I kept the natural sounds intact in this clip. Taped 01/14/10 Mostly clear this evening...Then becoming partly cloudy. The 10th annual (and final) "Polar Plunge" for The Nancy Schonheinz Memorial Scholarship Fund was held New Year's Day at Ft. Phoenix in Fairhaven,MA. Hundreds ran into the cold 39 degree water with relatively seasonal 35 degree temps on shore. Luckily calm winds brought no significant wind chills to the soaked polar beach goers. Participants came from as far away as Hawaii and the youngest to plunge in the frigid ocean was only 3 years old. Nancy Schonheinz was killed in a domestic violence incident in Fairhaven,MA Nov 2000. This story is in conjunction with Fairhaven Neighborhood News and The West Island Weather Station.
