For over 200 years, Union Wharf in Fairhaven has many stories to tell, from Herman Melville sailing from here on the whaler Acushnet to write his novel "Moby Dick" to the whaleship Charles W. Morgan that spent her last days in New Bedford Harbor until being towed to Mystic Seaport in November 1941. Union Wharf continues to provide valuable waterfront access to this busy fishing port. Large ocean going scallopers tie up along side the smaller lobster boats.
