The Ft. Phoenix bath house had large locker bays for bathers to store their clothes. A token was about a quarter. The boardwalk is visible to the right. It extended out further but the Hurricanes of 1938 and 1944 chopped away at it. The most significant damage was done earlier around WW I when ice destroyed a large section. The building was eventually torn don after Hurricane Carol caused extensive damage. A concrete replacement building was erected in 1966 and still functions as a bath house. The property is owned by the State.
