Three sisters , south of the Causeway, ride the strong Northwesterly winds from the departing ocean storm. Just hours before the first day of winter, a powerful nor'easter brushed the SouthCoast with snow accumulations in the 4 inch range. One year ago to the day (Dec 19-20) a snow storm dumped over 15 inches in Fairhaven and Acushnet. Although we were spared a major snow event this time, it still was enough to get the snow plows on the road. Strong northerly winds brought wind chills into the low teens as the storm continued to intensify out at sea. Another significant snow event is possible during the mid to late holiday weekend. Stay Tuned.
