This hurricane book has an artist's illustration on the cover. This is the third hurricane book to have this unusual feature after The 1924 and 1938 Standard-Times hurricane booklets. Note the drab green background color on the jacket (during the height of World War II ) Published by The Standard-Times New Bedford, and The Cape Cod Times of Hyannis, MA. Although there was a shortage of everything - including cameras and film - during the war, there was a large quantity of pictures taken of this serious storm event. Each page of this photo album has a full-sized picture - which I think is one of the best laid out hurricane booklets of it's time. Use SLIDESHOW feature for full-size photos.
