Temperatures plummeted to sub-zero locally and many areas and across the region Monday morning. In the northern part of Acushnet the mercury dipped to -4 below zero.

North Fairhaven had a low reading of 0, while West Island reported 1 degree at 8:00 AM. Inner harbor and bay waters froze up quickly in less than 12 hours during the Arctic blast.
