Our location in Buzzards Bay is the ideal spot to gather weather. But the exposure to the elements especially the salt air takes it's toll on the tower, gear, and sensitive weather instruments. The quality of our weather data is essential to provide accurate weather conditions 24 /7. The upkeep is costly and some recently bad winters have taken their toll on our 20 year old 50ft tower.
We are proud of our highly rated web site that remains free for all to access live real time weather data and superior web cams like no other in Buzzards Bay. WIWS has dozens of photo galleries, videos, and special feature pages as well. Our powerful communications systems allow us to relay information to The National Weather Service during criteria storm events even with all utilities cut-off. The radio equipment needs upgrading and repair. Some radios are pre-Hurricane Bob - 1991 - vintage. Your support in any amount will help us maintain an invaluable weather service to the community on both land and sea., which also includes our West Island sister site.

The West Island Weather Station has been battered over the years here in the Northeast. Routine service to the tower is needed including repairs to weather instruments and radio gear. Any donation large or small is greatly appreciated to help keep WIWS on line and in service.
